3 Weeks Old!

Today marks my 21st birthday-21st day in the world that is...year 21 will come soon enough! I have really enjoyed this week exploring and finding new things in this new world. Mommy and I have gone out driving together and have visited the farmer's market, Trader Joe's and the big shopping mall which she says I will really enjoy one day. In fact, I've been to Nordstrom twice and had more outfit changes than a mannequin...yes I had my first blowout at Nordies. Mommy, Daddy and I have taken out my new Bob Jogger for a test ride to go feed the ducks at Haverford College and I napped under the backyard tree while Mommy and Daddy got some sun. I love being outside and always move my head where I can see outside when a window is in sight. I hope you enjoy this weeks pictures and I will write again soon.

Relaxing on my bear rug.

This was me watching the water. I enjoyed the bath until I had to get out of the warm water.

This was my first real bath where I got to soak in warm water and use my new tub!

I really want to talk to you and Mommy says that will happen soon enough.

Just checking out my weight gain...with only one sock I might add.

Meeting my Grandma Pam Schriks. She came for a wonderful visit all the way from Indiana.

2 Weeks Old!

We can hardly believe two weeks have passed since giving birth to our little Addison. She surprises us everyday and is such a blessing in our lives. Since she arrived her weight dropped after birth but as of last Thursdays visit to the pediatrician she is up to 7 lbs 12 oz. Today she has been the explorer having stayed awake for most of the day looking around and taking in all she can see around her. Since day one she has lifted her head with such strength which continues to increase each day. Her eyes have also darkened and we think the dark blue is turning to brown which would be no surprise as we both have brown eyes. Her hair definitely has red in it and the sun shows lovely highlights of strawberry in her reddish brown hair. Wednesday we had the photographer over who did my belly pictures for Addison's newborn and announcement photos. We are excited to see the proofs as she was very cooperative throughout and we got some cute and creative shots which we are excited to share. If you'd like a sneak peek to a few visit her site at: www. sheilayphoto.com and go to her blog. You will see some of my pregnancy shots further down and Addison's shots up top. It was a lot of fun and Sheila is great! Keep her in your prayers as she and her husband are going through the adoption process.

Daddy and Addie

Bathtime in the kimono Mi-Mi got for Addison. This bath was enjoyed much more than the first at home as she loved watching and hearing the water running. This weekend she will be able to have a real bath as her cord has fallen off and she can actually use her tub for the next bath.

Looking at Daddy whom she loves so much. She has been so much more curious about lights, moving objects and focusing on distinct objects. She is already growing up too fast!

Long, skinny feet like her Mom's (but still too tiny for the smallest shoes)- let's hope this means she'll be tall.

1 Week Old!

We can hardly believe that a week has past since little Addison entered our world. It has been an amazing week of discovery and growth as a family and through it all we feel rested and have had consistent sleep at night even if it has been only in 2-3 hour intervals. One night it was surprisingly 6 hours straight, although I woke up every 2 hours to see if she was ok or ready to eat. We are truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl. Below are some new pictures of our week old Addison.
This really captures how sweet our little Addison Elizabeth is and although she is still peeling from birth (skin under eyes) she is perfectly beautiful to us.

Our Little Girl

Addison is doing beautifully and we are enjoying parenthood more than we ever thought possible. We came home on Monday afternoon and have been settling in to being home with our little angel. She has been sleeping well and is already on a great nursing schedule and loves to look at us and watch things around the room. She is already so strong, holding her head up and rolling onto her side. Last night when I woke up to feed her she was facing me on her side. I could go on and on, but here are some pictures of the last three days. We will continue to keep you all updated.

The announcement on the Birth Center that Addie had arrived! Also our friends baby boy who arrived just 7 hours before Addison.
Addison's first car ride to see Dr. Nelson, pediatrician

Waiting to see Dr. Nelson. Addison weighed 7 lbs at this visit having gained back her lost weight after birth.

Being examined by Dr. Nelson. She was very pleased with Addie's progress and said she is doing beautifully. We are blessed to have such a wonderful pediatrician just 5 minutes from home.

Addie and her Daddy having a nap.

Addie having tummy time in her nursery. She loves looking around and is already so strong, lifting her head and rolling onto her side. She amazes us everyday!

The stork made a delivery

After 24 hours of labor plus 4 days of prodromal labor Addison Elizabeth Schriks made her debut today at 4:07 am. She weighed in at 7lbs 3oz and 20.5" in length. She is a tiny miracle from God. Baby and Mom are both doing well and resting whenever possible. We could not be more blessed to have such a precious little girl. We wanted to post a few pictures for all of you who have been waiting anxiously with us all this time and continued to surround us with your prayers. She is the sweetest thing we have ever known.
