Adirondacks and Summer Fun!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in the Adirondacks. What a gorgeous stretch of God's glorious creation in the Finger Lake region of upstate New York! Addie enjoyed herself too as you can see and that night didn't even peep when a major thunderstorm roared in over the lake. Michael and I both awoke wide eyed, but the little munch snoozed right through.

Kisses for Daddy- caught this one right before she planted a juicy kiss on Daddy.

Oh, the handsome fisherman working on reeling in a bass!

Is she not the cutest little pumpkin- you discover your endless capacity for love when you have children and to think it is only a tiny ounce of what Christ's love for us is- AMAZING!

The Sagamore Hotel on Lake George- what a beauty!

Addie reading to us on our 5 hour drive to the Adirondacks-
she was such a great little traveler!

Michael driving the Hacker Craft boat- it was a beautiful mahogany.

Yes, Addie looks sleepy because she fell asleep as soon as we left the dock and woke up about 3/4 of the way through the ride.

Rejoice for the Steps....

Of a righteous man, they are ordered of God. I'm reminded of this song and Scripture as I watch Addison learn to walk. She took three steps all by herself today! Michael and I were sitting in the floor and she let go of his fingers and took three steps to me. We are excited and yet a little sad to see our little girl taking off! We've enjoyed how she loves sitting and reading books and playing- once she takes off there is no stopping her! But we are rejoicing for the steps knowing she will walk in God's time, He has blessed us with a healthy happy little girl who shows us God's love every day. Once I'm able to capture this walking on film I will post a picture. Until then as Addie would do- use your imagination to see this long and lean peanut taking those wobbly steps into her Mommy and Daddy's arms. Just remember we're never to old to run- or stumble into our Daddy's arms for He is always there to catch us and lift us up. The world around may crumble, but in His arms there is safety and security. We love you all and pray blessings over you today.

Summer with the Schriks'

I'M BACK!!!!!!! Mommy is so sorry she is so behind on blogging for all you Schriks Family followers:( This summer has been very busy and very beautiful here in Pennsylvania so every moment I'm awake we are either outside or out and about enjoying life! Since returning from our fabulous trip to Hawaii we have met new friends- Adam, Noah, Desmond, Marshall and Nicholas (yes, they are all boys- must not have been many girls born when I was...lucky for me ;) and we get together at least 2 times a week and the Mommy's workout while we tell them what to do from our strollers and roam around feeding the ducks and having lunch and playdates. It is so much fun to meet and play with new friends...and their doggies (Hi, Nala!) On the other days Mommy writes music and paints while I nap and when I'm up it's all about chasing me around as I learn to walk and talk (talking seems to currently take precedence). We are enjoying our summer and hope you are too! Enjoy all the pictures which should nearly catch you up on what has been going on in my life. Mommy will post more soon to get you current and then try her best to post more often. We miss you all and look forward to seeing all of you sometime during the summer! xoxoxoxo
FYI-they go from furthest back to most recent.

Jim Thorpe- born an Oklahoman but raised and attended school in Pennsylvania where he is forever remembered in the town named after him. It was a beautiful community in the Pocono Mountains.

Close to taking off on her own- doesn't want to be carried anymore. She wants to walk holding your hands. We're enjoying this while we can...soon she'll take off and never stop.
